The Energy Resources Institute (TERI) is conducting a workshop on Ecotourism under the SECURE Himalaya project on 8th of November, 2019 in Gangtok, Sikkim.
The theme of the workshop is “Issues, Challenges and Solutions for Promotion of Ecotourism” with a keynote address by Shri M.L. Srivastava, IFS, Principal Secretary cum PCCF, Forests, Environment and Wildlife Management Department, Sikkim.
The workshop will also include structured panel discussions on “Ecotourism in Sikkim, Challenges and Way Forward” and moderated discussions on issues like “Potential and Promotion of Nature Based Tourism Activities in Landscape”, “Key Challenges in Promoting Sustainable Tourism”, “Role of Local Institutions in Managing Tourism” and “Models/ Products for Promotion of Sustainable Tourism”.
